Zero to One: Notes on Start Ups, or How to Build the Future by Peter Thiel
If  you want to build a better future, you must believe on yourself.

The great mystery of our time is that there is still an unknown front to discover and create new inventions.  In Zero to One, veteran entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel explains how we can find unique ways to create these new things.

Thial starts on a country basis, which we live in an age of technological stagnation, although we have become too distracted by glamorous mobile devices to notice.  There have been rapid advances in information technology, but there is no reason to limit advances in computers or Silicon Valley.  Progress can be made in any industry or business.  It comes from the most important skill that every leader must master: learning to think for yourself.

Doing what someone else already knows how to do takes the world from 1 to n, makes something more familiar.  But when you try something new, you have to go from 0 to 1.
Every moment in business happens only once. The next Bill Gates Will not build an operating system.  Neither Larry Page nor Sergey Brin could create a search engine. And the next Mark Zuckerberg wouldn't create a social network. If you are copying these guys, you can't learn from them. Tomorrow's champions will not win ruthless competition in today's market.  They will completely avoid competition, as their business will be unique.

It presents an optimistic view of a new way of thinking about the future and innovation of progress in America: Zero to One.  It starts with learning to ask questions that motivate you to find value in unexpected places.
